See Your Welds in True Color and Unmatched Clarity
The Hobart PRO 16 PureColor PRO welding helmet raises the bar for what you can expect from an auto-darkening lens. With a generous 16.32 square inch viewing area and a perfect 1/1/1/1 optical rating, this helmet delivers stunning clarity across the entire field of view. The PureColor PRO lens technology takes it a step further by providing bright, natural color reproduction in both the light and dark states. Unlike older green-tinted lenses, this lens passes a more complete color spectrum, so you can see your weld puddle, joint, and surrounding work area with remarkable accuracy and detail.
Whether you are welding carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum, the true-color view helps you judge the weld quality in real time, reducing eye strain and improving overall results. The helmet is also rated for low-amperage DC TIG welding down to just 2 amps, making it a versatile choice for precision work.
Smart Features for Every Welding Situation
The PRO 16 is equipped with four independent arc sensors that provide reliable arc detection, even in challenging positions. It offers both automatic and manual operating modes. In auto mode, the lens adjusts its shade between 7 and 13 depending on the welding arc, so you do not have to think about it. In manual mode, you can set the shade yourself—shades 9-13 for welding, 5-9 for cutting, and shade 3 for grinding.
One of the most convenient features is the external grind control button, located right on the outside of the helmet. This allows you to switch between weld, cut, and grind modes without lifting or removing your hood, saving time and keeping your hands free. The digital controls let you fine-tune shade, sensitivity, and delay settings to match your preferences and working conditions.
Comfort and Durability You Can Count On
The Hobart PRO 16 weighs just 22.1 ounces and features a 5-point PRO ratchet headgear system that offers ergonomic adjustments for a secure, comfortable fit. The headgear distributes weight evenly and reduces fatigue during long welding sessions. The helmet also includes an integrated magnifying cheater lens holder, so you can easily add a prescription or magnifying lens if needed.
The lens provides 100% continuous UV and IR protection, meeting ANSI Z87.1-2015, CSA, and CE EN379 standards. It also has a low battery indicator to alert you when it is time to replace the batteries, and it powers on automatically when you strike an arc.
What’s Included in the Box
This helmet comes ready to use with five outside lens covers and two inside lens covers, so you can keep your view clear for a long time. The PRO ratchet headgear is included and pre-installed. The lens is backed by a three-year warranty, giving you peace of mind in your investment.
How to Use Your New Helmet
Getting started is simple. The helmet powers on automatically when you strike an arc. To switch between modes, use the external grind button without removing the helmet—press it once to cycle between weld, cut, and grind modes. In manual mode, use the digital controls on the inside of the helmet to adjust shade, sensitivity, and delay. In auto mode, the helmet takes care of the shade adjustment for you. The headgear adjusts with a simple ratchet mechanism, so you can get the right fit quickly. The helmet also accepts a magnifying cheater lens if you need additional visual assistance.
Please Note
