The Hobart Handler 125 is a 130-amp MIG welder designed for the home workshop, farm, or hobbyist who needs reliable performance without the complexity. It runs on standard 120-volt household power, so you can plug it in anywhere and start welding right away. Whether you are repairing a fence, building a gate, fixing a grill, or patching up farm equipment, this welder handles steel up to 3/16 of an inch thick with ease.

This machine ships ready to run .030 flux-cored wire, which means you can weld outdoors without needing a shielding gas cylinder. But if you want cleaner, spatter-free welds on thinner materials, the built-in gas solenoid makes it easy to switch over to solid MIG wire and shielding gas—just add a regulator and hose, which are sold separately.

Simple Setup, Solid Performance

The Handler 125 features four output voltage settings that give you a good range of control for different material thicknesses and joint types. The adjustments are quick and straightforward, so you spend less time dialing in settings and more time getting the job done. The feed head includes a quick-release lever and adjustable tension, making it simple to thread new wire and keep feeding smooth and consistent.

A built-in contactor keeps the wire electrically cold until you pull the trigger, which adds an extra layer of safety and convenience. The machine also has short circuit protection and a self-resetting thermal overload, so it stays reliable even during longer welding sessions.

What’s Included in the Box

This package comes complete with everything you need to start welding with flux-cored wire. You get the comfortable 8-foot H100F2-8 MIG gun, a work cable with clamp, a MIG welding nozzle and nozzle adapter, and spare .030-inch contact tips. The power cord is included, and the welder also comes with a handy weld set-up chart and a detailed owner’s manual covering installation, operation, and maintenance.

How to Use Your New Welder

Getting started is simple. For flux-cored welding, install your spool of wire (the hub accepts both 4-inch and 8-inch spools), thread it through the drive rolls using the quick-release lever, and set the tension. Plug the machine into a standard 120V outlet, select one of the four voltage settings based on your material thickness, and adjust the wire feed speed. Pull the trigger and begin welding. If you want to switch to gas-shielded MIG welding, install a gas regulator and hose (sold separately), connect your shielding gas, and change to solid wire. The gas solenoid handles the gas flow automatically when you pull the trigger.
